Dishwasher soap is easy to make, and cost effective. I mix up a batch in an empty canister, and pour it in the dishwasher as needed.
Mix and use per dishwasher load:
1 Tablespoon Borax
1 Tablespoon Baking soda
OR

1 pkg Mrs Grass dry chicken noodle soup mix
2lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed and cooked
1/2 package dumplin' noodles

Buy bulk packages of corn tortillas. If you have a small family that doesn't use tortillas quickly repackage them in Ziploc bags containing six tortillas each. Then put the Ziploc bags back in the original tortilla bag and store in the freezer. This keeps them neat but lets you use just the amount you need without having to defrost the entire package of tortillas

Loaf French Bread sliced
Rip into pieces & put in the bottom of a 9x13 pan.
Next..in a bowl mix 1 qt. milk, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon & nutmeg to taste & 4 eggs....whisk to mix.
Pour mixture over the bread & then push the bread down to make sure it fully coated with mixture. Add some raisin or nuts if you like.
350 for 1 hour.
