How To Make Your Own Laundry Detergent - And Save Big Money
Tue 01 Jul 2008, 10:20 pm by Admin
Quote:
I’ve been experimenting with making lots of cleaning supplies at home, but this one is by far the craziest - and the most successful. Basically, I made a giant bucket of slime that works incredibly well as laundry detergent at a cost of about three cents a load. For comparison’s sake, a jumbo container of Tide at Amazon.com costs $28.99 for 96 loads, or a cost of $0.30 a load. Thus, with each load of this stuff, I’m saving more than a q...

Dishwasher soap is easy to make, and cost effective. I mix up a batch in an empty canister, and pour it in the dishwasher as needed.

Mix and use per dishwasher load:
1 Tablespoon Borax
1 Tablespoon Baking soda

OR

Mix equal parts Borax and Baking Soda, and add 2 Tablespoons per load. Increase proportion of soda for hard water. Use vinegar...

I just kept forgetting to buy more. (I keep telling you, half of frugality is procrastination!) After a heavy load of company dishes, I...

~Bread Tips~

Buy bulk packages of corn tortillas. If you have a small family that doesn't use tortillas quickly repackage them in Ziploc bags containing six tortillas each.
