Not happy with how you look when wearing glasses? Do you want to improve your peripheral vision? Contact lenses are the solution for you. Contact lenses have come a long way since Leonardo da Vinci invented them in the early 1500s. They’ve become advanced enough where the wearer should feel no discomfort. You can’t just choose any old contact lens though; you have to do some research. Proper lens selection will have you seeing clearly. There are two main types of contact lenses. They are soft and hard.

Soft contact lenses are thin and gel-like. They are generally comfortable and stay in place well. They’re a good choice if you like to play sports or are an active person. Soft contact lenses come in different varieties.
Single-use contact lenses are designed to be worn once. You put them on in the morning and throw them away before you go to sleep.
Daily wear contact lenses are worn daily and can be reused for a number of weeks. Daily wear contact lenses make more sense economically than single use contact lenses, but they must be cleaned every day.
Extended wear contact lenses can be worn at all times, day and night. However, continuous use increases the risk of infection.
Hard contact lenses are smaller and, you guessed it, harder than soft contact lenses. They are less comfortable than soft contact lenses and don’t stay in place as well as soft contact lenses. They are durable and with proper care can last for two to three years. On the con side, they take longer to get used to than soft contact lenses.
